Day 2: Manaiakalani Workflow
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
I really enjoyed hearing about how the process of learn, create and share can enhance the relevance of new learning, facilitate shared learning by providing opportunities for students to communicate and interact with their classmates - and even possibly students around the globes.
"Technology enables removal of barriers, previously inconceivable solutions to problems, opportunities for new ways of learning"
We learnt about R.A.T.E and how we would be moving from an analogue world into the digital world.

The presentation also had me thinking about how learning looks like in our school -
The question that was made was would the values of the school be shown in every class if someone was to walk into them?
I honestly believe so, with a twang of differences between our bilingual units, mainstream and different levels - but i believe the fundamentals are engrained in our school, but I think this would also make a great discussion in our school meetings.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
Google Keep
Learning about Google keep was really awesome - I really loved the idea of having a place where I can keep images of things that I am inspired by for my class and resources, I also love the idea of taking photos. To remind you to talk to someone at work or have access to the grocery list every time you pass by your grocery store.

Embedding Videos
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

Hi Adriana,
ReplyDeleteWow - what a very insightful reflection from day two on the DFI! You have mastered embedding videos in a blog post - I really enjoyed watching your Meet recording. Connecting what you have learnt with how it could be used to support your learners is a great reflective prompt and you have evidenced this in a really considered way. Keep up the great blog posts and see you on Thursday.
